A very Squishy Summer

A very Squishy Summer

Why Is Everyone Obsessed With Squishies?

If you've spent any time around kids, tweens, teens—or let's be honest, adults lately—you've probably noticed that squishies are everywhere.

So what makes these soft, squeezable little toys so popular? What's the deal?

For starters, they're incredibly satisfying to just....squish! The slow-rise foam and soft textures make them fun to squish, squeeze, and fidget with. Many people find them calming and stress-relieving, whether they're sitting in a classroom, riding in the car, or taking a break from screens. (analog activities, yes please!)

Squishies also come in endless styles, from adorable animals and geometric shapes to  food shapes. Sparkle filled, light up, or sticky, part of the fun is collecting different ones and finding a favorite.

Another reason squishies have become so popular is the variety of textures available. Slow-rise squishies are made from soft foam that slowly returns to its original shape after being squeezed, making them especially satisfying to fidget with. (think butter sticks and croissants). Food shaped slow rise squishies are often scented, too.

Hard squish styles offer a firmer feel and bounce back more quickly, providing a different sensory experience that many collectors enjoy. We hear these are great for dexterity improvement. The wildly popular NeeDoh (which we do not currently carry) are considered a harder squish.

You'll also find Taba squishies, a newer trend known for their soft, stretchy, slightly sticky texture. Unlike traditional foam squishies, Taba squishies can be pulled, stretched, poked, and molded, making them a favorite among kids and sensory toy enthusiasts. With so many textures to choose from, it's easy to find a squishy that feels just right in your hands.

Squishies offer something refreshingly simple: a hands-on, sensory experience that brings a little joy to your day. They're easy to tuck into a backpack, desk drawer, purse, or gift bag, making them a fun treat for kids and grown-ups alike. (just don't leave in your hot summer car). Also while we are on the subject, do not do any crazy experiments or tiktok trends with your squishy. Do not cut them open or coat them in other substances. You want to stay safe, and maintain your squishies life as long as possible.
